National VA Research Week Presentation

National VA Research Week May 17-21

National VA Research Week

Thursday, May 20, 2021

National VA Research Week is May 17-21, 2021!

This week, we want to highlight our exceptional researchers who continue to improve the lives of Veterans and all Americans. Did you know that VA researchers were part of the innovative teams that developed effective treatments for tuberculosis, invented the CAT scan, and performed the first-ever liver transplant? Cutting-edge research is going on today stronger than ever at VA medical centers nationwide. Research initiatives being conducted at the Birmingham VA Health Care System include lung precision oncology, substance abuse and homelessness, COVID-19, and more.

To learn more about the significant role VA Research plays in improving Veterans’ health and welfare, save the date for speaker Mark Roltsch, PhD, Health Science Officer at Washington D.C. Department of Veterans Affairs, as he presents Clinical Science and Biological Science Research Opportunities at the VA at 10:00 a.m. on May 20, 2021.
