•   Develop and implement a VA Medical Center Green Environmental Management System (GEMS) that will meet the requirements of Presidential Executive Orders 13423 and 13514, and the guidance provided by Veterans Health Administration.

•   Be a good steward of the environment by complying with Federal, State and local environmental laws and other requirements, preventing pollution, minimizing waste, conserving cultural and natural resources and continually improving environmental programs. Lead Copper Sampling Plan June 2016

•   Evaluate the operation of this VA Medical Center to incorporate actions into facility planning and procedures to reduce environmental vulnerabilities.

•   Recognize that the development and construction at this VA Medical Center must consider the unique conditions of the environment of which the facility is a part.
