Free Training For Veterans
The University of Alabama, in partnership with Priority Soldier, Inc., is offering free Computer, Finance, & Professional Development Classes for all Veterans.There are weekly classes at the Alabama Workforce Training Center on Fridays from 9:00 - 10:45 a.m. It's located at 3500 6th Ave. S. Birmingham, AL. 35222

Transportaion is available from the Birmingham VA by Request.
Combined Computer/Financial/Professional Class:
Computer Skills: Veterans will be tutored on an individual basis by a trained University business student. Beginner skills covered include Internet Explorer, web searches, email, Google Docs, navigating Windows, file maintenance, and Microsoft Office. Veterans with more developed computer skills can choose Microsoft Excel, Word, or PowerPoint.
Financial Skills:
Veterans will be trained in the basics of money management, including budgeting, making good financial decisions, the use of loans and credit cards, and financial issues relating to home and car ownership.
Professional Development:
This component of the class will include skills such as resume-writing, interviewing, and communication. UAB will provide computers, materials, software, and tutors at no charge to Veterans. All veterans are welcome.
