There is no cost for patient or visitor parking. The Ambulatory Care entrance on University Blvd. (8th Avenue) is available for unloading of passengers.

Security
Birmingham VAMC Police Officers provide 24-hour patrols of the facility and parking lots. For general police assistance, please dial ext. 6288. In case of an emergency, dial 6444. Report all suspicious or criminal activity, vehicle accidents, and personal property losses to the VA Police while on the facility grounds as soon as possible.
Our parking lots are also equipped with emergency phones that automatically ring the security office when picked up.

From Highway 280/Elton B. Steven's Highway
Take the 2nd Avenue North exit on your right,
Stay on 2nd Ave N,
Turn right onto Richard Arrington Jr. Blvd,
Continue until 4th Ave N,
Parking deck is on your right, ENTRANCE is around the building on 4th Ave N and 22nd St N
From I-65 North or South
Take the 2nd Avenue North exit on your right,
Stay on 2nd Ave N,
Turn right onto Richard Arrington Jr. Blvd,
Continue until 4th Ave N,
Parking deck is on your right, ENTRANCE is around the building on 4th Ave N and 22nd St N
From the Airport (I-59/I-20 West)
Merge onto 1-59/I-20 West, towards Birmingham,
Take the 22nd Street North exit on your right,
Turn right onto 22nd St N,
Continue until 4th Avenue North,
Destination will be on your right on the corner of 22nd St N and 4th Ave N
Take the 22nd Street North "exit only" lane on your left,
At the end of the ramp, take a left onto 22nd St N,
Get in the far left lane,
Continue until you reach 4th Avenue North,
Destination will be on your right on the corner of 22nd St N and 4th Ave N
From I-59/I-20 East
Take the 22nd Street North exit ramp on your right,
